A Flavorful Delight: SNL Prawn Pickle Recipe

SNL Prawn pickle, a beloved delicacy in many coastal regions, is a tantalizing blend of succulent prawns, aromatic spices, and tangy marinade. In this blog, we'll explore a mouthwatering prawn pickle recipe that will elevate your culinary repertoire and delight your taste buds.


  1. Fresh Prawns: 500g, cleaned and deveined
  2. Mustard Oil: 1/2 cup
  3. Vinegar: 1/4 cup
  4. Garlic: 8-10 cloves, minced
  5. Ginger: 1-inch piece, minced
  6. Green Chilies: 4-5, chopped
  7. Curry Leaves: a handful
  8. Mustard Seeds: 1 tsp
  9. Fenugreek Seeds: 1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  11. Red Chili Powder: 2-3 tsp
  12. Salt: to taste


  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry the prawns until they turn pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Once they splutter, add minced garlic, ginger, green chilies, and curry leaves. Saute until aromatic.
  3. Add turmeric powder and red chili powder. Cook for a minute.
  4. Stir in vinegar and salt. Cook for another minute.
  5. Add the fried prawns to the mixture and toss until well-coated.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  7. Transfer the prawn pickle to a sterilized jar and store in a cool, dry place for at least a day before consuming.
